January 15, 2017 8:06pm - Life Happens!
It has taken me awhile to get to this point. I would always say "Life is Short!" You would catch me saying this all the time and that's even before my dad passed away on October 30, 2015. I watched it all play out. In a matter of a month I went from searching, how to write a book proposal to how to write an obituary.
Fast forward to March 8, 2016 is when I had a shoulder surgery. Looking back, that was the least of my worries. A few days before my doctor is about to release me is when I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer Stage II. I actually had a few other insane things to happen.
I know you're thinking wow. Those were my exact words. Fast forward to today I find myself sitting at my desk on a beautiful day in Seattle working on both my breast cancer, my website and my photography book on President Barack Obama.
I saw a psychotherapist for the first time last week to start talking about my past 13 months of insanity. I decided to put my wellness number one for the rest of my life. It's far more meaningful then saying I'm working on my health and that's why working on my wellness is the only thing I need to do right now.
I am not a professional photographer. I still consider myself a quirky, happy, and passionate person who just happened to be in the right place at the right time when President Barack Obama came to town and who now happens to be working on fixing her breast cancer.
The doctors say they can fix it but it's going to be a long road. I am prepared to do everything I can. I plan to continue updating my website as long as I'm feeling good and get this coffee table book out! Stay tuned!
